Crane Lake Campground Area Information
There are no overnight dock slips available at our campground. However, there are several public access locations located within a mile where you can launch and pull your boat for free.
There are many day use sites with picnic tables, vault toilets, and large beaches free to use within Voyageurs National Park (accessible only by boat). Other nice day trips for a picnic include Vermilion Falls, the Crane Lake statue, or the Echo Lake campground (all accessible by car), or you can visit many secluded spots including the new steel bridge down the Kabustasa road by ATV.
Voyageurs National Park is only accessible by boat. Yes, really. If you want to get out in the park, you will need to bring/ rent a boat or hire a guide service to take you out for the day. There are several guide services in Crane Lake if you don’t feel comfortable with navigation or just want to leave the driving to someone else!
